American "Hero" was created after sourcing the main image from a 1960's Sports Illustrated. I chose the pitcher as hes often times seen as the "hero" by many teamates and baseball fans alike. I decidede to cover his face using a Wilson glove which was taken from the same magazine. By covering his face with an object, I've now taken away this heros identity and made him annoynmous. The sad face showcases a few possiblities. One might be that hes cracking under pressure. And the other might be that its a little sad to idolize the people we do.
